BBC South East are timeshifting HIGNFY, Citizen Khan and Graham Norton, so there might be some local continuity.

Why are they time shifting?

Interestingly BBC South East didn't bother with their own programme (they shared with BBC South). But they seem to have another opt-out on Monday evening, ahead of a local by-election.

Oops - South East just played out the network junction into the timeshifted HIGNFY rather than doing their own, which trailed ahead to Citizen Khan at 11.20. A bit poor really.

Presumably they didn't know network were going to do that until it was too late. Although in my experience they are warned not to give time checks or throw ahead to programmes that are dropped

True, although they had 40 minutes to come up with something else, even if it was only a generic "This is BBC One [South East]"

I wonder what happened with the subtitles for the timeshifted network programmes ?

They were there.

It depends who 'they' was. If it's just a technical operator there then what can they do in the 40 minutes between airings? Leaving the output to faff around in an edit suite isn't really an option

Fair point, but somebody would have had to top and tail/cue up the recording of network's programme, so doing so just after the symbol and dropping a pre-recorded generic one into the running order doesn't seem too onerous.

It does sound like there's been a communications cockup though, the network announcer trailed ahead to a BBC Three programme starting at 1am over the Graham Norton credits, which went out at 1.20 in the South East. After the HIGNFY junction I'm surprised there wasn't a phone call to NC1 to make sure RedBee knew they were going out on delay and needed to be regionally safe.

My recording cuts out during the PIF after the weather, so I'm not sure how cleanly they got into the News Channel.

I think you're grossly over estimating the attention to detail Red Bee provide, recent performance does indicate a rather Laise Affair attitude to pres. Perhaps BBC TW should have 'subbed out' the task to one of the BBC Nations (did they all have their BBC 2 pres suites tied up last night after 22:30 ?)

Not sure they really needed to "sub it out" at all - everything except the weather was pre-recorded well in advance, so they should have been able to get copies of those programmes loaded onto their servers well in advance. Pre-record some continuity announcements and build a playlist and you're away.

Or am I greatly simplifying things?

Any sign of a CiN ident or will that only appear on Friday?
