I thought everybody who's 'media savvy' knew that Sunday's SCD is recorded after the live Saturday show
I attended a recording of the ALW 'Wizard of Oz' show, that followed the same format as SCD
There things started about an hour before the live portion, with pre-recordings of the bands etc that
appeared on the live show, and the Sunday results show, then the live portion itself, then a 45 min break, and the Sunday results show was recorded. That was actually quite quick, because just like SCD, the show is padded out with loads of highlights floss from the main show. None of that is ready when the recording of the Sunday show takes place, so they just record the intos and outros for them, and it's quite quick and painless, about 30 mins or so.
How do they prevent the results getting out before they are shown on TV in this age of social media?

Exactly?

Probably with that is "there's always one" and so I just don't get how it wouldn't/doesn't get out. It is quite risky, I wonder if there was reports of a couple of people slipping up if they would chose to go live on the Sunday?
Would people have to agree to an embargo until 8pm on Sunday night?

The audience usually have to surrender their mobile phones and the recording has usually not finished before the Sunday papers have gone to bed. I think there is a general tacit "Don't spoil the show" agreement amongst the audience - a bit like the Olympic Opening ceremony.

It is funny how the press quite happily respect that embargo yet don't think twice about spoiling soap plots or say the final line up for The X Factor or Celebrity Big Brother. I noticed last night too the voting period for Strictly is now very short - 8.35pm the lines closed last night. I'm sure it used to be 9pm with the show ending around the same time (8.15pm or so).
Ultimately though the result is actually a very small part of the result show and those interested enough to find it (it's on Digital Spy forums every week around 10-10.30pm, but never on the main site) will still be interested enough to watch the results show anyway.
I think also this year is the first year they've made it blatantly obvious it's not live by including reactions during the credits. Not a regular viewer at all but I've not noticed them in previous years.

The Soap plots revealed are what the channels themselves allow to be published. All the soaps embargo certain details but not much. Emmerdale recently embargoed the identity of Charity's kidnapper and Eastenders do the same regularly. Generally when there is a big spoiler it's been leaked by the shows own PR team.
The line ups of Strictly and CBB are purposefully leaked by the PR teams to drum up interest and press articles about the shows. Strictly starts leaking their line up in July.
It would be very easy for the press to spoil Great British Bake off and The Apprentice eliminations too but they know their readers don't want spoilers.

The wouldn't spoil it anyway. The Christmas specials are recorded nearly 3-4 weeks in advance and they don't spoil them. Some of the Sport Relief/Comic Relief specials were recorded 6 months in advance. As Brekkie pointed out above, an audience member always posts the result into a specific spoiler thread on DS

Apart from one week every episode since 2007 (apart from 2009 when the main show + results were combined) has been leaked on the DS Strictly forum. The thread often has 200k views by the following morning.
The BBC don't really care because only the real die hard fans will bother to look for it and the die hards are such big fans they will watch the results show anyway.
Back in 2007 Kenny Logan was a pundit on the Rugby WC coverage from Paris and at the same time he was doing the dance off on BBC ONE
The Mail made a big deal about it the following Monday but nobody really cared.
Back in 2009 Peter Fincham wanted The X Factor to do the same and pre record the results and air them the following night but Cowell over ruled it and it stayed live on Saturday nights until ITV coughed up extra money to have a live results show the following year.
Even if they wanted a live results show, they couldn't do it as Len and Bruno have to be in LA on Monday for Dancing with the stars.

No one had to surrender their phones (it would be fairly pointless, and a major exercise to return them !!?) at ALW show I attended, there was the usual no photos/switch them off stuff, but yes, also a quick, 'don't spoil it' lecture.

I think the Wizard of Oz show may have been an exception here. It was a Talkback production unlike the rest of the ALW shows which were produced by the BBC. IIRC it was recorded in the BGT/ X Factor studio at Fountain as TVC was being used for the 2010 Election. I think they still have to surrender phones at Strictly's current home in Elstree as they did at TVC.

Blimey !!! How do they deal with handing them all back, without a bun fight, or people getting halfway up the road before they realise they've got the wrong phone ? Where do they store them all, concentrating that
amount of Lithium Ion batteries in one place could contravene H&S regs
Above all, I don't really understand why surrendering them reduces the risk of of letting the cat out of the bag, tweets etc can still be made after the phone is handed back at 22:00hrs Saturday?
Yes the ALW shows were at Fountain Studios in Wembley
