Can I ask something I think I saw quite recently but can't seem to find the answer? Is Strictly recorded?
I think I saw someone say it was and it would make sense because the lines close the same night like 15 minutes after the show finishes. Then, they interview some of the family and friend's whom I believe are wearing the same clothes - therefore highly implying it being recorded.
I just think it must be weird if it is recorded because that must be extremely tiresome for the judges, presenters and dancers who have to go get changed and then get ready for any performances/introductions for the Sunday show. Plus, what a massive liability to have an audience, whom with the age of social media, could tweet "X has left Strictly".
If it is recorded, why?
EDIT: I presume it definitely is recorded as after the culture club performed the judges stood up to clap and then immediately teleported to Claudia.
I thought everybody who's 'media savvy' knew that Sunday's SCD is recorded after the live Saturday show
I attended a recording of the ALW 'Wizard of Oz' show, that followed the same format as SCD
There things started about an hour before the live portion, with pre-recordings of the bands etc that
appeared on the live show, and the Sunday results show, then the live portion itself, then a 45 min break, and the Sunday results show was recorded. That was actually quite quick, because just like SCD, the show is padded out with loads of highlights floss from the main show. None of that is ready when the recording of the Sunday show takes place, so they just record the intos and outros for them, and it's quite quick and painless, about 30 mins or so.
However, we were on site, 17:00hrs to 22:30. Must be mad !
