I watched BBC One Scotland on iPlayer and it appeared to crash into Outnumbered. Is this normal when they go back to the network?
It's not something I've ever noticed. The only time it was really noticeable was when BBC Two Scotland opted out of Newsnight for Newsnight Scotland, that was horrendous at times...
The BBC NI opt out of Final Score sometimes wasn't great, it's usually very good now. Ditto Children in Need.
The opt back from Newsnight Scotland is a funny one - Glasgow work to a fixed off air time whereas network can over or under run. This gave Tony Currie some issues when the Scotland version ended as planned, he was playing out the weather and London decided they were staying on air to take an Obama press conference. He ended up playing loads of trails and doing a menu and some music as he didn't feel he had a way to get back to network Newsnight that wouldn't look rubbish.
I noticed that Final Score NI last week was scheduled a shorter duration than network with a Coast filler rather than crashing back.
There was briefly a Newsnight opt out in Northern Ireland and Wales which started at the same time as the Scottish one but which was discontinued after a while. NI (and possibly Wales) would opt out but would have a longer News update than England and then time-delay the rest of the programme, missing out the weather forecast to catch up with network. That was the first time Newsnight had a weather forecast straight after the programme. At the same time Weatherview which was on around midnight moved to BBC1.
So it looks like BBC One NI are set to follow BBC 2 and return some old Idents in celebration of there up and coming birthday on the 24th October I believe
