There was a BBC Four breakdown slide (for around 20 seconds),

*

there was then the "BBC One HD cannot yet show programmes from your area" for around 30 seconds, before crashing into the Glastonbury programme.

Did anyone else see the technical problems on BBC One Scotland after the National Weather?

Helen Willets finished the weather then after the screen faded to black it returned to her and she waved as she walked off screen. The announcer (I believe it was our very own Tony Currie) apologised for the technical errors over a revolving BBC logo.

The sound seemed to be almost mute on a bbc weather app promotion (which had been cut to the last part) and the ident into the next programme 'I belong to Glasgow '. All we could hear properly was Tony introducing the programme.

Then when the programme started sound again appeared to be an issue and when Tony's voice came on I thought it was to apologise again but he appeared to be unaware he was live and was heard to be asking 'What on *earth* had happened there '?

after a few seconds his microphone was switched off and a few seconds later we finally got full sound restored to the programme.

Tony - if that wasn't you on duty I apologise. I wondered if this was a BBC Scotland specific (certainly some if it was) issue or if the network was affected too.

Thanks. Would appear to have been a BBC One Scotland specific issue.

Yes I experienced it too, the start of I belong to Glasgow had no sound at all then it finally cut in.

You can currently hear Mr Currie enquiring "what the hell happened there" on iPlayer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b048ws8c/i-belong-to-glasgow-3-sanjeev-kohli

Haha. Yes I didn't quote precisely. Bizarre that's on the iplayer.

something badly went wrong from a minute before that programme started.

Haven't seen it yet but sounds like the pres mixer could have crashed? I can't imagine a pro like Tony leaving his mic on, but if the mixer wasn't reliably responding to commands from the desk he may well have closed the fader on the control surface but nothing actually happened. I would assume there is some way to bypass it and put the server playing out the programme to air directly.

Yes, and the snatch of programme audio you heard before it all went mute, sounded as if it
was off mic from the booth's monitoring speakers ?

There was another problem on BBC 1 Scotland this evening.

At the end of Celebrity Mastermind, a BBC One ECP appeared, followed almost immediately by a BBC One Scotland ECP.

The BBC One Scotland ECP overlaid the 1st ECP and pushed it further to the left (i.e. the 2nd ECP was squeezing the credits and 1st ECP), so the ECPs were taking up half the screen.

I've noticed that BBC 1 Scotland have been using the ECP over the last few weeks. Don't know if this is out of choice, or if they've been forced into using it.
