I really don't get how it survives - I think TOTP2 does relatively OK but don't think anybody is really that bothered about TOTP on Christmas Day.

Did you conduct extensive audience research on the Brekkie household?

I think it's one of those things we just expect to be there. It's the only really notable annual Christmas day programme before the Queen airs at 3pm. For me the TOTP Christmas day episode is as much a staple as The Queen's Speech, it's been there for as long as I remember.

What would you replace it with, another forgettable animated film? A Pointless special? Escape to the Country?

I agree, it will have to remain regardless of how well it rates (which as far as I can tell is 'alright'). The time to can it would have been when the series (proper) ended. I don't think the presentation of it is up to much but then it doesn't have to be.

Missed it, did anyone grab a screenshot? And does it match the logo of TOTP Magazine?

Nope it's completely different, because god forbid the BBC to have any brand consistency these days.
Did the BBC come up with that logo though or the publisher who licences the name?

I think they need decide whether they're doing a homage to heyday of Top of the Pops or whether they want to update the brand in these New Year and Christmas specials.

The magazine's website says that the logo, not just the name, is copyright BBC.

Wasnt a completely new logo they used I've never seen it before to be honest I didnt realise totp was still being shown as a christmas day thing, obviously I didnt enjoy the music but the shots used were pretty good.

Are you talking about the logo they used today?

At least it's not "Love 2014"

That Voice promo is weird in that its story makes sense but it feels so totally alien from the show itself that it really doesn't fit.

It's very weird and unbearingly cringey.
