Perhaps worth a mention that viewers in Scotland were spared The One Show this evening for a specially extended Reporting Scotland.

To be fair both have an equal amount of hard hitting news stories Razz

A BBC Training video from 1987, came across it on youtube pretty cool shows how BBC1 used to play out its shows back in the old days.

Yes, I've seen it. As a VT Operator, I used a wide variety of VTR formats, and used to use similar VTRs to the ones shown (often using Ampex VPR80 1"C VTRs, but others as well). Not in a live situation, though, but post-production. Happy days Very Happy

I haven't actually watched this yet, so I don't know how extensively he speaks about his time on Avago, Chase-It.tv and Ideal World.

About as much as any other contestant, so not much. Certainly nothing mentioned by name, as you'd expect.

He did in the second episode.

Not sure if this has any significance besides an anniversary:

Anyone else just had Pointless interrupted by some huge spinning glass BBC blocks?

Just when we were about to see Richard drink a contestant's Oak Leaf Wine as a forefeit, too.

Yeah, just switched over and a few seconds later it appeared. At least it was more interesting than Pointless.

Spinning blocks are used on the nations clean feed between programmes I believe. Not sure how they ended up in the middle of the programme though.

It's not the first time it's happened, they do seem to randomly pop up for a few moments on the HD channel every now and then.

Here in BBC NI at 1732 we crashed into the news channel which was delivering a weather report, followed by the glass blocks which reminds me of the BBC ident used on some programs on Netflix and then back to Pointless. The CA said after, 'We were just testing to see if you were concentrating. No tech mishap at all"

A bit of unusual pres this morning on BBC One after "Caught Red Handed"

Seemed to be a pre-recorded announcement, not by the duty announcer. The caption was still rather than having the standard animation in the background. The nations had the same voiceover and the same graphic with their own version of the BBC One logo.
