Simple but it works. Probably should have used it a bit more in the build up though.

Is that the first Children in Need ident since the globe era?

The topic of HD regions was brought up on Points of View today: http://www.bbc.co.uk/i/b03jrtb6/?t=4m50s

If you don't want to watch the video, the interesting news was that HD regions may be coming sooner rather than later:

"...but what we're doing right at the moment about it is we're working through a plan for how we can stage our investment. We're taking that proposal to the BBC Trust early next year, so I hope to have more news next year."

Basically, what was said in July's press release that was issued with the announcement of more HD channels (but of course most PoV viewers wouldn't have read that). The HD proposals for the BBC One regions was briefly mentioned at the September BBC Trust meeting. Proposals due to the Trust by January.

And I'm hearing BBC One NI HD is moving to channel 101 on Sky HD in Northern Ireland...

Can't believe it hasn't been mentioned before now, Avago's Nigel May (pictured) was on Pointless last week...

I haven't actually watched this yet, so I don't know how extensively he speaks about his time on Avago, Chase-It.tv and Ideal World.

About as much as any other contestant, so not much. Certainly nothing mentioned by name, as you'd expect.

Perhaps worth a mention that viewers in Scotland were spared The One Show this evening for a specially extended Reporting Scotland.
