True, but to say it's "almost criminal" is a little OTT don't you think?


Perhaps in the literal sense it is maybe, but he's probably just disappointed with what the BBC have done to, what were, good idents.

Yup, I've managed to catch Capes and Hippos so far (I take it the third one you're referring to is Surfer?).

Dreadful really, and is it any coincidence that all this seems to have done is resulted in EVEN more trailers at junctions - about three now seems typical, four or even five on occasion.

They just showed an original Capes ident into the news. Is this a mistake to do with old and new versions in the play out machines? I prefer the originals. Bring them back, although the new funky Helicopter music is superb.

I've read over the thread now, and almost everybody in it is being ridiculous. It's like you all think that the new idents murdered your dogs or something.

Sure, the execution wasn't that great, but the histrionics are unnecessary. Get a grip.

It really is brilliant music, very punchy and as I said before it cleverly mimics helicopter blades whizzing around. It's a real grower.

Lol I wouldn't go that far, but it is a forum to talk about TV, and presentation is a big part of that. Don't see why people can't gripe if they want to.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that the new version of Helicopter is better, although the old one was good, it was a little too morbid/sombre for my liking, but saying that I think that was the whole point of that ident.

Lydiate on the ball today with the junction at half 7 long version of capes with the first 19 seconds of it clean....Excellent Smile Capes beginning to grow on me
