Did they just show a longer edit of Capes before master chef? It seemed a lot longer than the variant they use normally?

Yes they did. It's the pre 2009 edited version, albeit with the 'BBC One' logo forming up from the start. They also used the pre 2009 version on Hippos into The One Show. Nice to see the original versions being used, just looks odd with the logo forming up before the circle formation.
Incidentally, are there still long versions of all the idents available, (even if seldom/never used)? I know 'wall of death bikes' long version still exists.

I remember seeing a long Penguins a few years ago.

An ident based on The Voice just aired - the four chairs swivel, and the BBC One logo forms around a microphone. Once again, a bit of a botched job for a special ident, but after what we saw with Africa, what could we expect? Thought it was a trailer at first.

Did they use this ident last year? I can't remember but it feels familiar somehow.

I just noticed that the penguins and the skaters go over the BBC1 NI logo. Good old NI... once again. Why couldn't the Network do something like this during post-2009?

Also noticed a different style end board for Dr Who, it was almost reminiscent of the old style with the BBC One logo button centre of the screen. Looked much cleaner that those dreadful powerpoint-esq red swirly things.

If only they'd bothered to make an effort with the actual schedule....

Awful schedule. Easter Monday looks like a normal weekday.

Really?! They've ripped up the entire peak time schedule, with the exception of EastEnders. A one-off Jonathan Creek special at 8.30, Africa at 7 - you get that on a normal Monday?

Daytime looks like any other day.

Hardly any films or special programmes, its all bog standard fair.

An hour of highlights of Africa. Jonathan Creek the only thing of any note.

The morning looks a bit rubbish but they are showing a film in the afternoon.

Did anybody also catch the BBC action line caption after EastEnders last night? The web address was mistyped as

And separately, a nice touch from network with the continuity and effect on Mission Control before the Who episode.

Also, the BBC Worldwide Purple box was used on the Endcap for Doctor Who, first time on BBC One?
