The longer versions were definitely better IMO. The music especially for some.
But I can't believe it's nearly seven years since these began airing!

I've noticed the announcers recently have been waiting for a good few seconds after the logo and circle have formed before speaking, which I think defeats the object of shortening the sequences. IMO they should have gone down the line of Carlton's late 90s idents, which had variants for each with a 3 and 5 second form up, as well as keeping the full length versions.

Actually, thinking about it, when they first brought in Capes it had numerous variants, each with different lengths of footage before the logo form up. They should have just continued with this trend!

Considering Late Kick Off is on across England in it's various regional forms I'm surprised they don't just use a national announcer.

First time I've seen a local ident on BBC One London...

They use one into Inside Out every week (obviously without "& South East, although that's about the only time you'll see it.

Yep. I think they may need some font training at BBC London - their gallery output currently has a sample of their new graphics, and has the live bug in Gill Sans rather than Helvetica Bold.

The title made it on to the EPG entry for The One Show today. The title being "11/03/2013". In fact, every episode this week has a title. Apart from Friday when it is dropped for Comic Relief, which is a shame. It would have been nice to have a The One Show Comic Relief Special.

Agreed. They should never have changed them from the originals. And withdrawing Moon was a mistake - that was perfect for the News.
