In my experience the idents are sent out to the regions with blanks so that they can produce a new variant should they wish.

I believe that same clean edit slipped up onto the BBC One website at one point, along with all the edits of Capes. From what was (accidentally) shown on the BBC One website, it seems the tape/disc/whatever has several versions of the ident, all with VT in front, followed by the clean one, which is what the regions must have.

This caught my eye so I though I load. At the beginning of BBC One Original British Drama trailer - 2012 there is a interesting sting. Is it a sign of what's to come?

Oh, I have not seen that before and the studio and graphics do match up. I not seen it on TV which made me wonder. But I think your right. It's a Olympics thing.

Did anyone catch the promo card for eastenders on Two a min ago, Look East crashed in to, I assume nothing was missed though

There was a 'Next, Olympic 2012 Swimming' slide before the Eastenders one.
