Is the big summer promo making its debut this weekend do we know?
EDIT: Answer is yes - here it is http://t.co/9RduqSiP
The blue, white and red BBC One endcap looks lovely!
The ending on BBC One (before the Apprentice) was slightly different - it had (very briefly) The Queen's Diamond Jubilee / Euro 2012 / London 2012 Olympic Games flashing up on the endcap.
But Andrew Wood, that would make too much sense and would look good. The BBC's idea with these Olympic logos is to make them look as gastly as possible.
Or at least that's what they seem to be aiming for. Gone are the Lambie-Nairne guidelines of no coloured BBC logos, and the letters rather than being transparent are being coloured differently too. It all looks a horrid mess for one of the biggest events this decade.

So true. The simpler version in the colour scheme looks much better, or alternatively surely they could do something with the swirls to have a two part end board with the Olympic rings either forming before or after the main end board.
I'm not sure I agree with everyone here. The simple white BBC blocks and Olympic rings on their own have their own limitations. You end up with two identically rendered BBC blocks on-screen at once - and I think the tagline "Olympic Broadcaster" needs to remain.
Whilst I don't particularly like the white box and magenta logo - I think it's important for it NOT to look too integrated into the BBC One endboard, and to have its own separate identity.
Agree that others feel differently. On the other hand I'm just grateful we don't have a BBC One dog on-screen - NBC and channels like SVT always add the rings to them permanently (for weeks/months on-end...)
