Agreed, I really enjoy it when I see it despite the dated titles and theme Laughing
You're right, Homes Under the Hammer's title sequence is not just dated, it's actually obsolete, because it features banknotes and the £20 design has changed. It should've been updated years ago.

Not forgetting the famous "agent music" when the agents are walking around the finished houses.

God I adore that theme. Does anyone have a clean copy of it?

I still think the title sequence looks good, if technically dated by now...

The agent music always reminded me of Express Yourself (Charles Wright - and later, NWA), like a library instrumental version of those; it's definitely about.

One thing they do quite well - the apt (and sometimes humourous) popular song choices they come up with to accompany the narration & shots of the properties; I admit, some of the track selections have had me laughing!

This has gone in my Treasured Collection folder. The only other thing in there is the Bid-Up.tv bed.

Yes, they really are excellent, someone on the production team must have a lot of fun coming up with them.

I also enjoy how awful, yet enthralling the male presenter is. Especially when he interviews the buyers.

it's such an odd show, I love the song choices, its as the selection of tortured metaphors builds up to the point you know its about to kick in and you are desperately trying to think of what absurd song they're about to play.

I know what you mean about the "library version of Express Yourself" thing too. Absolutely love that song. Am going to set it as a ringtone and strut down the street like an estate agent tomorrow.

Totally agree on the choice of music on Homes Under the Hammer, but the other thing that always gets a chuckle from me are the coming up sequences where they include a quick soundbite from one of the house buyers which is either just very bland or totally bizarre when out of context.

Just stumbled upon this info... (it's news to me, so apologies if it's already known to people here).

TV Live posted:
Freeview have announced proposals to reshuffle it’s EPG lineup in anticipation of the increasing number of entertainment channels set to launch. Under the proposals, which are now open for consultation, HD will be moved from 50-59 to 101-109, reflecting the standard version of each one. For example, BBC1 HD will become 101 – exactly 100 after BBC1.

...and it occurred to me that if/when the above happens, the BBC One HD holding caption that replaces regional news will need re-wording, as the "Channel 101/1" reference will otherwise become extra-confusing to Freeview viewers.

I'd actually argue that it already is poorly worded...

My 70-year-old stepdad (who has Freeview) originally read the " / " as "slash" rather than as the word "or" (i.e. interpreting it as some weird type of five-character channel number, where one of the characters was a piece of punctuation!) Therefore he was totally bemused, until I explained about the Sky/Virgin channel numbering system. It really ought to have always been worded at least as " Channel 101 or 1 ", or, more ideally, something like " Freeview channel 1 or Sky/Virgin channel 101 " or similar. Verbose maybe, but clear.

What if you've swapped 1 and 50, like I have (and ITV and C4 HD), then it becomes irrelevant!
