Is she still doing it or is it a repeat. I think the show has had numerous presenters over the years like Angela Rippon and Gloria Hunniford (you'd think they would have standards!) - to be fair to the awful Lorne Spicer she's probably the only host the show had where she was a relative expert in the field.
Cash in the Attic is one of the inexplicable survivors of the Bargain Hunt clones which sprung up left, right and centre 10 years ago, mostly fronted by that bloody Lorne Spence. Like the Changing Rooms/Garden Force clones before them, there were far too many and they went on far too long.
.
Lorne only started presenting Cash in the Attic after thy axed the even worse ''Car Booty'' Sun Sea and Bargain spotting with Angela Rippon was even worse.
Homes Under the Hammer is pretty unique in style and tone - it is nominally a home improvement programme but the thing which I believe makes it most compelling is the tours around these strange properties - I don't think people grow tired of snooping but they can certainly get tired of watching people sell heirlooms for a day at the zoo.
Agreed, I really enjoy it when I see it despite the dated titles and theme

Originally every episode was hosted by Alastair Appleton and since he left it has had a million and one different presenters. Chris Hollins, Jennie Bond, Aled Jones Jules Hudso, Angela, Gloria and Ben fogle. I'm sure there has been more. Basically whoever is cheap and available.
Or the new schedule will involve a hell of a lot more repeats.
It will be interesting to see how that decision affects shows like Homes Under The Hammer, which recently finished a mammoth 180 episode series, or Pointless
which is currently on a 70 episode run. Both are massively popular so it would seem bizarre to cut the series length, unless it's merely changing from a 70 episode series to four separate series containing 15 episodes, or something similar.
I suspect they'll try a lot more clever scheduling, I've noticed new episodes of Homes Under The Hammer now only air on Monday, Wednesday and Friday with repeats in the other slots, presumably to make the series last longer. Pointless also seems have a pattern where they show a few weeks of repeats and then a few of new episodes and so on.
That BBC news article is very badly worded, in Broadcast where the news originated it makes clear that he is only talking about the 9.15-10.00, 11-11.45, and 3.00-3.45pm slots. Homes under the hammers, Doctors, Bargain Hunt, Pointless, Perfection and flog it and their long runs are all safe.
The 9.15 slot is already limited to 15 or 25 episode runs[Fake Britain, The 1952 show, Rip off Britain, the estate were in, Heir Hunters,Wanted down under ] and in the last year since the to buy or not to buy has ended the 11am slot has moved in the same direction.
The only real news here is the 3pm slot is becoming more varied.
Thanks for clarifying that. The BBC article made it seem like the whole schedule would be restricted in this way.
Mixing shorter running shows in certain slots alongside some bigger commissions seems like the right way to go. Something like The 1952 Show was a great little programme, but one that could only ever work in a short run (that was only five episodes).
Whenever I see these, I can't help but get the image of someone at a keyboard about 4 seconds before the pointer goes to air suddenly rushing to enter the text in a mad panic with their unsteady fingers.

Isn't it more of a location thing? Presumably if a presenter lives near whoever is taking part it means more episodes can be made and less hassle for presenters.
Escape to the Country is the same though. I don't think it helps either brand - especially where jobbing presenters pretend to be property or antique experts.
Cash in the Attic Finishing - thank good ness for that!!!
Was talking to a friend the other day about some of the daytime tv shows we watch. It seemed we had similar tastes in that we watch Homes Under The Hammer and Bargain Hunt, of the big ones whilst of the shorter runs we watch the recently finished Don't get Done Get Dom and of course Wanted: Down under.
Talking fo which I wish they would do a series of Wanted: down under for single people, as I would easily apply to go on the series, and yes seriously thinking about moving doen under as well (and it wouldn't just be a cheap holiday)

You're right, Homes Under the Hammer's title sequence is not just dated, it's actually obsolete, because it features banknotes and the £20 design has changed. It should've been updated years ago.
