I wonder if it's look just a tad better of the swirls did the animation for a second time as the hippos formed the circle.

New 'Dogs' before 'Wallace & Gromit' on BBC One Wales - visuals not as bad as they could be (the opening 'barking dog' shot has been kept) but the music's weak compared to the old.

I know I'm being picky, but the fact that they've simply overlaid the BBC One logo over the video looks lazy.

Especially considering the dog used to run over the logo... if baffles why they don't use that if they already have it edited!

That does look awful - why is the logo on so early?

Lazy - same as the fish swimming over it on Hippos. Awful music too.

Did anyone else get very bad crackling during some of Wallace & Gromit and even a brief view of a test card?

It's just happened again during the film Holes.

Is it just a Virgin Media problem, or everywhere?

They've absolutely wrecked that ident: the former Indiana Jones style music was far superior, and we've lost the majority of the fun clips. God I'm dreading Lawns.

Something like using that as the start of the ident might work, with it animating away to allow the ident to play and then the logo to form up. Probably still wouldn't look great, but couldn't be any worse. Any animator here able to give it a shot?

Interesting idea, or even the logo over the footage animating away in a FIVE style to come back later.

I do think that this is a weird revamp of the current set. I do agree with most people on here that it has ruined a splendid set of idents. The music change on some is nice, but the change on others destroys the ident, most notably helicopter.
The way that the logo now forms up before the circle is plain stupid. I can understand them wanting to get the logo on screen earlier, but they've added it earlier for the sake of it.
It doesn't even look at though they've cared to when the logo forms. Look at capes, starting with a wheel, followed by child's face where the logo forms up. Even though the logo comes on early it would work appearing with the circular wheel if these two shots were swapped.

I just feel that after 2 1/2 years, it's a change for the sake of it.
