No they showed a load of celebs in Christmas jumpers during HIGNFY singing "Consider Yourself" from Oliver with a BBC One logo form-up at the end. I think it might have just been one of the promos rather than the actual ident though...

Can't see it being used as an ident as a) it strays away from the usual BBC One ident theme tune and b) Can't see how they'd do a serious/news version of it!

Ah yeah, that's their Christmas promo, been using it for about a week now.

Blue Peter are going behind the scenes of the promo on Monday, according to Radio Times.

Just watching back Graham Norton, recorded from BBC One HD on Friday night. When the countdown (whilst regional news plays) ended, it cut into the blue revolving cubes loop and then straight into Graham Norton. Did the same thing happen on SD BBC One?

The national weather failed to playout on BBC One HD so the revolving (revolting?) cubes were the back up and no, the regions took over as normal on BBC One SD

What did the regions do? Did they know that the weather wasn't going to work so stayed on air longer?

Apologies if this was dealt with eons ago and it slipped me by, but for how long has the (Countryfile?) ident - with a duck splashing about in water - been in use?

Oh, that's interesting. Are you per chance describing BBC1 NI's "Wild Week Live" ident, first seen in May 2011 and if so has it made its network debut (which I believe someone prophesied earlier in this thread)?

That's the fellow, yes - but it was seen whilst checking NI, so nothing new I'm afraid! I'd no idea it had become a regular symbol there. Never seen Network use it, but it would be nice if they did - sorry if I got your hopes up Razz

Sounds like the generic BBC ident to me.

Eastenders doesn't normally go DOGless on BBC One HD (Freesat), does it?

The clouds disappeared a few years ago now, replaced with the cubes.

It's a slower, silent version of this with no form-up:
