Does anyone else hear something wrong with Signs on BBC One HD (Freesat for me), but not on BBC One? It sounds like one of the channels have been inverted so the sound is out of phase - sounds like I'm listening to it from inside a bucket.

Dear Mr Wood

Thanks for contacting the BBC.
I understand that you've been experiencing poor quality sound on BBC One HD.
Recently we have had a few issues with BBC One HD switching between Dolby digital and 5.1 and Dolby digital 2.0, however, these have now been rectified and are monitored regularly.
At present we are unaware of any sound problems and if you continue to experience this please do not hesitate to contact us again.
Thanks again for taking the time to contact us.

I'm sure there was a short issue at the start of the fourth episode of Pan Am on Saturday night - but I'll have to check the Sky+.

I noticed that as well, but wasn't sure if it was just my ears because it stopped pretty quickly.

For want of a more appropriate thread to put this in, http://vimeo.com/31627668 is worth a look - the guys in BBC Wales Pres have been playing with their old mechanical clock,

I still think this is the best example of how the globe or clock went from real-life model to being on screen:

I loved that spinning globe. I wish they would bring it back.

Bring back everything.

Love the fact it's poised on a stack of CDs. I guess that would have been LPs back in the day Wink

Erm no, back in the day it was mounted in the Noddy frame so having a bit sticking out of the bottom for the motor wasn't an issue.

Incidentally here's the Welsh version

Some talking on the CA coming up slide there, the voice seemed to be reading travel information. The slide quickly cut to a promo with the CA still talking. Odd.

I think it was the start of the trailer shown after.

Was that seriously the BBC One christmas ident they just showed on HIGNFY?

Rather rubbish if you ask me...

That was the end of the Christmas films promo, then the Penguins ident into HIGNFY.

No they showed a load of celebs in Christmas jumpers during HIGNFY singing "Consider Yourself" from Oliver with a BBC One logo form-up at the end. I think it might have just been one of the promos rather than the actual ident though...

Can't see it being used as an ident as a) it strays away from the usual BBC One ident theme tune and b) Can't see how they'd do a serious/news version of it!
