I notice that the BBC One EPG on Sky actually had the 'BBC News and Regional News' programme scheduled at 19:57 today. It normally only appears as a footnote in the synopsis for the previous programme 'then BBC News'. In fact, EastEnders still had 'then BBC News' in it's synopsis today anyway.

It let me recorded it and set a series link but it doesn't look like it is on the EPG for the rest of the week. I wonder, A) what caused this to appear as a programme in it's own right today and B) why it doesn't appear like this everyday?

Just had a regional ident for Question Time, announcing that there will be a phone-in after the programme on BBC Radio Manchester. Good to see some regional differentiation now and again!

It's almost as if they were created in PowerPoint.

Oh, what's that? They were.

Hopefully things will improve once it goes HD later this year.

Strange start to The One Show today. Alex Jones started to introduce a report on the riots but then stopped mid-sentence and threw to an live OB with Angela Rippon where the cameras weren't on the correct shot.

After the OB, they introduced the report again and part way through an error message 'Unrendered' appeared so they back to the studio again where they introduced another report instead.

Also, not the most surprising news, Chris Evans seemed to drop a hint that Alex Jones may be appearing in Strictly Come Dancing. Dancer or presenter? That wasn't clear.

Presumably the opening package was being cut right up to the wire and there was a 'is it ready? Yes it is, no it isn't' conversation going on. It looked messy on air but I don't think it could have been handled any better by Alex and Chris
