Only Fools on BBC1:

No credits/titles between the two episodes. Just an Only Fools & Horses logo then the opening scene with the episode title at the bottom of the screen.

and Del's 'slightly' racist speech/song about Australians was omitted.

and the theme tune was the famous one rather than the original one.
and the closing credits were redone to combine the credits for both episodes.

Quite disappointing really. I'm sure the BBC should be treating OFAH better than this.

Ah ok thanks for that.

It seems we get lots of little "treats" on BBC1 HD - first it was the loss of commentary on the F1 race the other week and now this. Laughing

At some point soon, BBC One HD will be the 'master' version of BBC One, and the SD version will be a downconverted feed of that. (I'm not sure how this will work around the regional opts - at present, during these, the SD sustaining feed tends to be News Channel, and the HD channel gets a caption)

Perhaps that won't happen until BBC News is in HD, which I assume would happen following the move to Broadcasting House

When does BBC One HD become regionalised?

When does BBC One HD become regionalised?

I've heard early/mid next year. I know some regions are filming and editing reports in HD.

Reporting Scotland is HD Ready and I would have thought London is. North West Tonight will be come the move next year.

I'd imagine the nations will become HD first.

I still don't feel they've gone about BBC One HD in the right way.

My dad summed it up nicely when he said it was stupid they have the countdown clock on BBC One HD making you flick to 101 for the regional news.

It would have been a much better option IMO if they did what ITV1 HD did - broadcast London regional news then flash a banner at the bottom asking people to switch to 101 for their regional programming.

Have just seen this - http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/aboutthebbc/reports/pdf/workplan_0611.pdf - which says the nations are due to have an HD variant from some time in 2012.

But you're in London. People in Manchester or that other northern city Scotland might feel they're getting the raw end of the deal.

I agree. There is absolutely no logical reason to show London's regional news as a default for the entire network over and above any other region.

The current decision to display a caption and a countdown to the resumption of the full network service is adequate, doesn't discriminate against any region. There is no need to change it until alternatives are available for Wales, Scotland and NI - at which point England should continue as at present until all regions are available.

I see where you're coming from. Point taken.

The ECP with a preview of the Six was dropped tonight, presumably as it was a pre-rec and events with the News of the World closure overtook it.
