Scotland was not fine. Well, certainly not on analogue anyway. I say Scotland, Reporting Scotland went out fine - but there were bizarre black periods around it (but curiously not directly before and after, more in between the 10 o'clock news bits)

Oh, I checked Scotland when the blank screen appeared in the South East and it was fine. I guess Scotland (on DSAT) had a similar problem but not at the same time.

What was the cause, any ideas? Problems with the mixer in N6, playout problems in NC1 or some kind of fault with the network feed?

Was more of a problem with the incoming feed that the outgoings of N6 or NC1. It was leaving London OK, but not being received by us.

Just a quick question which might have been answered but I can't be trawling through pages of posts to find it.

Is the BBC One batch of fonts expanding their range of use and being used outside of promotions for BBC One? Just recently noticed a CBeebies trailer using one of the fonts and just wonder if it'll be the BBC's new corporate font as a value for money sort of thing.

Highly doubt it.

Gill Sans and Helevetica remain the main BBC fonts, and the problem with BBC One is that it's rather soft, smooth and daytimey. So not exactly appropriate when going into 'BBC Television from London' mode.

I'm inclined to agree on that. There's something about the font that makes it look to informal for me to really warm to it as the typeface for the flagship channel. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, but I don't think it is quite there.
