My thoughts exactly.

Hard to tell on this YouTuve clip; are the skaters skating over the top of the logo? In the same way that the hippo swims infront of it in the last few seconds of Hippos?

Looks like the Skaters are on top of the logo, however it looks like one penguin is under it.

I honestly think the reason BBC One have brought it back is nothing more than popularity. 'Penguins' was a hit with viewers and certainly got friends of mine, who would never usually discuss such things, talking about it.

Well it would be wrong of me to complain since I was hoping a couple of robins could have been similarly be adapted for "all year round" in 1986...

Still, let's see what they come up with this December Wink

Don't get why Newsround is extended to 15 mins.

Perhaps because of these specials?

Adding to my earlier eBay ad comment, I keep expecting the beginning of the piece to launch into the Postman Pat theme.

They are Penguins not Horses. I mean they replaced the tree with a poor overlay of the skating rink floor. The giveaway is that horizontal strip shadow thing in the middle which is darker than on the left and right edges (the original bits where the skaters are skating). The replacement bit doesn't darken when the skaters shadows are over it.

Well ... no they clearly went back to the stage before the CG tree and decorations around the rink were added. Otherwise how would they have painted-in the skaters who disappear behind the tree?

Steed is a horse. A horse with a bowler hat.

I'm half expecting when it next snows, a re-edited Snowball, minus the fairy-lights and christmas tree in the windows.
