OHMIGOD!! The penguins are back!!!

I said that they should bring them back as an ident as part of the regular set but didn't think that they would. Pleasantly surprising. Incidentally, did they get rid of the baubles as well as the christmas tree? So that means we have 14 regular idents for BBC1 which is more than rhythm & movement idents during their entire run.

Did anybody record the link into EastEnders?

A nice pause in the music for the form-up. The logo should quite clearly be in black though.

Thank you. I was typing my comment to a previous post. It's good to see BBC1 doing something different with their idents though like the Magical Forest Life In Cold Blood ident.

I wonder if they'll do something special for Ashes To Ashes.

Did they use the new penguins ident in Scotland?

I think they should do the BBC One in different colours just as you suggest for some of the idents. It's difficuylt to see it on Penguins against the white. On some of the original idents like Hippo and Surfer you'd see colour on the swirl as the logo forms, they should do that for more of them.

Is it me, or does the ice look a lot whiter than the Christmas ident?

Are we sure it just isn't the BBC launching their slightly tweaked Christmas 2008 idents - after all, they've been getting earlier every year.

Damn, I thought I set it record Eastenders but it didn't record.

It went out this afternoon on BBC ONE NI.

Well only the Christmas Tree in the middle really made it a festive ident so with that removed its good to see it being used again - it's a good bit of fun and a splendid ident to use through the winter.

Good use of material I think - saying that this Christmas expect the Hippos to be wearing Santa Hats and that will be the festive ident 2008.

This is when a BBC One Timeshift channel would have come in handy.
