One of the worst BBC1 idents I've seen - and I've seen the bloody dancers.
No doubt about it this set of idents has far more potential than the dancers and are far more suitable for the channel - but with the last three or four idents they've forgotten about one of the aspects that linked them together - the use of the BBC1 red colouring, however subtle.
The circle alone isn't enough - here once the logo was formed it just looked like a BBC One logo slapped on any old footage.
Music is crap too - the signature hook isn't strong enough with this ident.

Strong candidate for strangest BBC One ident, I like its sombreness (although not entirely sure its suitable for introducing the news) but the conclusion was odd. It just shows though that BBC One are lacking a strong logo, you can picture a '4' (or even a big 2) appearing overhead but the circle resolve seemed weak.
On a presentation related note, have they finally realised that the white radio boxes were illegible? The Radio 5 logo appeared boxless on the trail endboard preceding the ident.

Why do they even bother putting any effort into the music? They let the first airing play out in full but after that they just talk over them so you can barely hear it. Ok, so it has some interesting shots of a helicopter but somehow it seems less sophisticated or interesting than the others. Shame the light from the lighthouse is so faint.

The piano did it when the circle formed. Erm!?! Not sure what to say after all that.
It's also in the choral bit just after it's played on the piano.

Did the music have the trademark jingle? I certainly didn't hear it!

well it was switched on once the circle formed, the light beams can be seen shining out of the circle.
Barely seen, they should be more obvious. And it's not very clear that the helicopter is delivering a light bulb. But as someone else has posted BBC One now have a suitably sombre ident for serious programming.

I thought the sky should have been darker, and the lighthouse should have been switched on IMO.

I always thought moon was sombre enough or even kites

At least you all got to see the new ident... here in Scotland we were treated to the Penguins again!
So it seems BBC One Scotland viewers will have to wait until Thursday before seeing the new one. I know we have had explanations in previous messages but it still seems odd why they chose to launch it so early and not show it on the entire network. They could have waited to say Thursday or even Saturday, I wonder why it was rushed out?

Like this one a lot. The music is a bit too drab. I think it'd still have the same effect if the music had a bit more oomph! Still very good though. I really like the direction these idents are going. They seem to be covering all bases with some really obscure ones mixed in with the more normal ones.

Nah. I'd say the problem with Moon is that it music sounds a bit too sweet, perhaps a bit romantic. Helicopter's music was quite good.
