It was part of the This Week promo taking the piss out of the life on mars promotions.
As for the weather, poor John Hammond forgot to reset his graphics, and had to lean off camera and reset them live.

I thought there were some to come. I'm sure they said there will be 16 in total. I would have thought there would have been a new edition after christmas though.
Why do they only do blocks of 8? Why can't they just do 1 or 2 every few months rather than say 8 a year?

BBC2's Yellow idents did this. The only problem was there were only 4 idents for a good few months after launch and they soon became tedious. But they soon started building them up and nearly every month or every other month saw a new ident.
I think the best way would be to start off with 5-6 and build up, with one new ident every other month, to about 16-20. Having said that the 91-01 2s started off with 11! Are branding agencies too lazy or too expensive nowadays? I suspect the latter.
