I recognise the lamp-posts in this new ident - it's Blackpool. They're the illuminations coming to life! Now I get it!

I take it that it wasn't used before the late news though was it?
The kites ident was used for the late news.
Yes and Mission Control before Con Air. Did anybody see what they used before Strictly Come Dancing tonight?
It wasn't the new ident. With Robin Hood (rpt) and SCD Results, Sunday is becoming a clone of Saturday - though Robin Hood is arguably more suited to an early-evening Sunday slot.

So they could have easily dropped it for casualty. Or they could keep the dark night theme going and use the moon ident.
I do wish there were more variations of kites to suit time of day/programme. Its used on most of the news junctions, and it is a great ident, just wouldnt become so tired if there were more variations.

Except For Viewers In Scotland, where the RH repeat is dropped because Waterloo Rd's shifted to Sun 8pm.

I think seeing Santa's sleigh being pulled by reindeer just going round in a circle would be very good visually.

To have no more Santa in BBC Christmas symbols would be terrible - there's no reason why they shouldn't embrace the legend as they have done on occasions in the past - there's really no harm in it after all.

You're probably right. At least snowball was new but it was sooooo boring! And having it play for so many days didn't help!!

A perfect 'loop the loop' in the sky would be good to create a circle.
