I'll be miffed if we get last years snowball ident again.

So will I be...but you knew that. Although at the moment I'm more concerned whether ITV1 will pull its weight with a festive ident this year.

Does anyone have a contact name for whoever in ITV deals with on-air branding?

But bbc140 (who despite being wrong on The Apprentice does indeed have a contact at the BBC, and has been right I think every other time he has given information) just said the next new ident would be at Christmas, therefore there must be a new one.

Has anyone seen the trailer for Strictly Dancing on Ice Factor or whatever it is now on BBC 2 tonight?

It had a glitterball flashout into the sky like the old Spidey/Batman spotlight, maybe it could be worked into an ident.

So today, IIRC is one whole year of the BBC One circle idents. I think they've made the BBC One Brand much stronger in the last year than the dancers ever did!

Undoubtedly better than the dancers, but that red box is still floating about. Although in isolation the new BBC One logo works much better for the channel, the other BBC channels keeping their boxes means cross-promotions are now quite messy and inconsistent.


Apart from that the only major problem is the ECP - it's difficult enough to read when they shrink the new (quite hideous) oversized credits, but absolutely impossible for many programmes which have the more familiar small text we've become accustomed too in recent years.


There was a very good reason the shrinking of credits was abandoned in recent years in favour of standardised end-credit layouts - and this has been a massive backwards step.

I am suprised that the didnt resurect a dancer ident specially for strictley.

Nothing, I just am sick of looknorth hoping they'll stick in an old ident in every junction, and I know many others are too.
