I hate the sound track it's so... crap. Cheesy, daytime, too happy, too shallow, I'm sure you know what I mean.
Someone described it as mind-numbing a while back. And the idents themselves aren't a patch on BBC1 - the ITV1 concept's nice, but I can't see any proper 'alive with colour' part in there, and the yellow just looks like it's safety paint on a pelican crossing. There's nothing with a 'happy' soundtrack, but at least make it strong. Think LWT's remix of the 1989
Get Ready
jingle.
speaking of soundtrack, WHEN ARE BBC going to put the new crop circle ident on their website....
I want to see the clean version of the ident....
Exactly what I want as well, As with Space there is after the formation of the circle there is music, but usually can't be heard because of the announcer speaking other it. A nice clean version
Typically when I haven't had chance to check the forum is the time I miss something (again). In fact I only realised there was a new ident this morning. As for Mowers, it's not bad but the movement of the women mowing the lawn is a bit strange and not really natural. The clip of the first showing was much better than this morning's junction though.
One thing I am surprised about is the release of three new idents in such a short space of time. I wouldn't have expected so many all together, instead them being spread out across the year, as now I think that we won't see any more for ages.

This morning I saw the new BBC1 ident "Mission Control" (i.e. the one where a spacecraft lands on a distant planet) on TV for the first time. I saw it whilst watching a video recording of last Sunday's edition of "How We Built Britain".
The ident is quite impressive. During the first few seconds of seeing it first time, I thought I was watching a programme trailer rather than an ident. You don't seem to realise this one's an ident until you've seen it in full, and become familliar with it.
BBC1 are doing something a little different for their trailers. With their great outdoor season trailers for Mountain, there's a spark of light in the middle of the 'o' when the red endboard forms. When you see it you'll know what I mean. Looks good.
Indeed, you're right to think that - Tokyo won an award in the UK Promax awards last year IIRC, and IMO thrashes all of the ITV1 idents visually and musically, so I'm pretty stumped about that.
They should take a look at Dubai aswell, another Channel 4 ident shot in a great locale with very, very good music to match.
I'm sure Dubai would have been eligible for the award and the one that looks like an island that was perfect for introducing Lost.
I think the BBC1 idents are getting better and unlike others I don't think some should be dropped, instead they should be added to meaning each link can have a different ident and less repitition of them.
BBC1 really need to sort out the sound levels on their continuity.
Before DanceX they faded down the sound on the ident so far that when the male announcer was talking you couldn't hear any of the music. What is the point of having recognisable music when nobody can hear it? You can be another room, hear the music and that's the cue to go to the television or know which channel the TV is on.
And I don't know who that male announcer is but they always put his microphone way up. They really need to look at Channel 4 and make notes.
