Interesting to note that the BBC1 Hippo ident won a silver award at Promax in the ident category. Incredibly it was beaten to the gold by the new ITV1 Idents!!!

Well visually it seems to me that the ITV idents are nicely shot, they are let down by the soundtrack and the form up of the logo.

But Hippos is such an unusual, quirky ident I thought that would have been the gold winner. But people on this site called it, they said Hippo at the time was the best of the new BBC1 idents. I think the new BBC1 idents introduced this year will pick up a few awards.

Surprised nothing from Channel 4 was in there.

Indeed, you're right to think that - Tokyo won an award in the UK Promax awards last year IIRC, and IMO thrashes all of the ITV1 idents visually and musically, so I'm pretty stumped about that.

They should take a look at Dubai aswell, another Channel 4 ident shot in a great locale with very, very good music to match.

Precisely, BBC One has a strong symbol and the idents reflect its message. What are the ITV1 idents telling us? That ITV1 is all about random yellow objects flying around for no apparent reason to the same irritating soundtrack?

I hate the sound track it's so... crap. Cheesy, daytime, too happy, too shallow, I'm sure you know what I mean.

And yet they won gold!!! Confused.com!!

It still proves that BBC One idents are better, 4 idents won them gold, but only 1 out of 12 BBC idents won them silver.

I think it's saying 4 ITV idents together won gold, one BBC1 ident won silver but Red Bee won 12 awards in total on the night.

Love the new lawn ident. Mysterious, yet amusing too. Good soundtrack also.

Are you saying I am lying? They looked like sofas but they might not be. It had a rather quiet soundtrack.
