Did BBC One Wales wheel out their St David's Day Daffodils today?

Yes.

Isn't the picture quality terrible on BBC One DSAT right now? It may be the programme (Let's Dance for Comic Relief) with its ever changing backgrounds that causes it, but this looks more like the ITV1 picture.

Exactly the same on Freeview, again it's the dotted lighting boards (is that the right word?) thats causing it.

Sorry if I'm slow, but has Neon been shelved? I ask that because Bikes was used into Total Wipeout and ISTR discussion on here about a new ident for Saturday nights, or something along those lines.

I was just about to mention that. No Neon on a Saturday.

Just saw Neon into Casualty. Personally I would like to see a variety of idents on Saturday evenings and not just one.

But then we have Mission Control into Live at the Apollo.

BBC's Casualty to move to Wales

Filming of BBC drama Casualty is to move from Bristol to the Cardiff area, the BBC has confirmed.

The decision is part of a BBC strategy to increase network TV production from the UK nations and regions.

There has been strong opposition to the move in Bristol. A local newspaper ran a campaign to keep Casualty in the city where it has been filmed for 20 years.

Casualty will join a growing stable of network drama produced in Wales, including Doctor Who and Torchwood.

The BBC said it was anticipated that Casualty would start filming in Wales in 2011.

The new location for Casualty is dependent on further value for money evaluations, ensuring maximum benefit for licence payers. The decision will be announced later in the year.

BBC Wales controller Menna Richards said the announcement placed BBC Wales at the heart of BBC drama network production.

That is a terrible idea. Why should Bristol have to suffer just because Wales could be in trouble due to the loss of Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures?

Where do you get that idea from? There's been no news of an end to eithe rprogramme yet.

This is part of building BBC Wales up as a strong regional production centre.

Well according to RTD himself The Sarah Jane Adventures came close to being cancelled several times. And there are rumours that future episodes of Torchwood depend on how well the new 5 part series does this year. If those shows go there will be a massive hole to fill in BBC Wales with a huge studio facility potentially sitting idle.
