I'm starting to remember something. Was it sting captures we thought would make a good ident or the front page of BBC1's autumn season brochure with swirling leaves that we thought would make a great ident?

TV Forum's favourite announcer is on BBC One this evening. Haven't heard the lady in a while and I must say, the husky voice seems to have gone. Every word's now coming through loud and clear.

I'm guessing that the fags have been ditched? Smile

It's still a bit husky. She sounds so much like Holly Walsh from CBBC.

Going back to the Wallace and Gromit Christmas isting, I noticed BBC One is in red. Could we finally be getting an ident with different coloured lettering?

Why does it always need to be white is what I want to know?

No, they just work different shifts.

She still doesn't sound very 'BBC1', she should be moved to BBC3 immediately

Does BBC3 & 4 have dedicated announcers or do they use the same pool as BBC1 & 2 does?

I'd agree - the sore throat might have gone, but she'll always sound more suited to BBC3.

That's just how her style comes across - and, short of putting on a different accent, that's how it'll always be.

Is this husky voiced announcer doing a 12 hour shift or something? She was on in the afternoon and evening. How long is a typical continuity announcer's shift on the Beeb?

No, she really doesn't sound suited to continuity at all.

The pages have been working on the iPlayer site for a week or two now, even though it doesn't officially launch until this week.

Video streaming has been working since the pages appeared.
