How will BBC One broadcast local news when it's streamed online next week? Will the stream be different when we select our location on the website?

From the FAQ page on BBC One's website:
Quote:
BBC One London will be available by the end of 2008. We hope to add the Nations' channels early in 2009.

So you will only be able to watch BBC London News until the nation channels launch in 2009.

there's still no mention of the regions it should be said, and as their only real contributions and news and inside out they might not bother with a full broadcast and just give a live stream on the new region websites

I noticed that on the ECP after Panorama, the movement of the credits into the bottom half of the screeen was smoother and not so quick as it was when the new style debuted on Friday.

Yeah, it's hardly worth streaming 16 or so virtually identical web streams all day, they could just provide the regional news when it's on air

So, flame-throwers, how long has the Capes sting been preceding BBC One programmes on the iPlayer?

They've changed it? It always seemed to be Magic Forest, but I download shows to watch later so didn't notice.

It's been just over a week. I don't like it as it's only about 3 seconds long.

I particularly like it because it's 3 seconds long. Now if they could just chop BBC Two's ident down a little, I'd be happier.

Oh I know, the BBC Two ident on iPlayer is far too long and annoying, and out of all of them they chose zoetrope. urgh.

Yeah, the BBC Two one really annoys me too. I didn't mind Magic Forest being a little long because it's a good ident but 14 seconds of Zoetrope makes me want to stab my eyes out.

It doesn't help that almost every BBC Two junction uses either Zoetrope or the insufferable Sunroof. Zoetrope is a decent ident in my opinion but it is far too overused (by Network at least).

But that's a moan for another thread...

(As misplaced yesterday)

Zoetrope wouldn't be TOO bad if it weren't so flipping long. But the fact that its soundtrack has been permanently etched into my brain shows that it's high time for a change on the BBC Two front.

So perhaps iPlayer will just show a sting from the Xmas batch this year rather than the "short" version of the ident like last Christmas (and early January).
