What effect will this have on ratings I wonder?

They showed a shortened version of Penguins into this afternoon's Diagnosis Murder. It's the first time that I've seen a short version of that particular ident.

The short Penguins has been around for a while - I've seen it before but it might just be case of the long version taking precedence for whatever reason (as seems to be the case with Hippos).

As I was saying in the ITV thread a few days ago, moving Corrie to 8.30pm on a Friday night has impacted the scheduled across the channels, not just on ITV.

It always seemed dire to me. One of those cosy household comedies where someone says an obvious funny line and the studio audience howls with laughter

As an individual programme not at all, but the 8.30pm slot on Friday nights was pretty much the only family sitcom slot on TV and had performed relatively well at times for the BBC.

I agree with you there. And My Family is a good example - I don't think it suited its new 9pm slot this year although the ratings weren't significantly dented by the move.

Having said that if it means we get rid of dross like AYG then it certainly has its benefits (coming from someone who wishes ITV would scrap that second Friday episode pronto).

The second Friday Coronation Street episode would go back to Sundays and I quite like it soap free now. There's something very surreal about Antiques Roadshow being the most popular show on Sunday and not Coronation Street.

Getting back to presentation. I have to ask does anybody think that the trailers for Survivors are a bit underwhelming?

The sad thing is somebody on the Doctor Who Forum that saw it said it was very good, but these dull, depressing trailers look more likely to drive people away. There is no pace or excitement in them. And how they didn't get the cover of Radio Times in launch week is beyond me!!! Shocked
