I just saw Penguins into The Weakest Link was it one of the rested idents or has it been unrested?

Don't think so, just rarely used over the summer months. Did we ever get to the bottom of the 3 idents which have been rested? AFAIK only Kites was confirmed. Can't say I've seen Petals or Moon lately...

I've seen Petals in the last week. Think it was Sunday night. Is Windows still in use?

I haven't seen moon or windows.

We really need to track every ident at every junction if we're going to get to the bottom of this.

You offering? Or are you going to set up a rota nearly as hard to understand as newsreaders' rotas on various channels?

Well a few pages back they said that Windows, Moon and Kites were being rested and possibly Penguins, so I was surprised to see it today. I'd rather they rested Sufers and Petals instead of Windows because they don't finish on a proper circle in my opinion.

Also on a sidenote has anybody seen the Windows or Moon idents on BBC1 recently?

not sure if it's been mentioned here already, but three of the current BBC One idents are being rested

In case you're wondering, the third ident being rested is Kites.

I noticed a couple of nights ago that BBC Leeds are still using Kites. Are any other regions still using it?

The regions seem to be a law unto themselves as Moon still makes a regular appearance before the BBC News at Ten in NE&C. Haven't seen Kites since it was rested by network though.

That's great news that other regions use them and even greater news that I have Sky to be able to view them. I still don't see the logic in spending all of that money on new idents and then resting them! Confused

Can't say I've seen Kites on Cambridge, Capes and Forest seems to be the idents of choice at the moment, with Helicopter making an occasional appearance.

Hmm. I'm not a fan of Forest going into the news. It seems far too cutesy and whimsical for serious programming.

I agree, it is not a suitable ident to lead into the news, Helicopter, Moon and Kites are better for that. But if they do use Kites into the news again I think they should edit it slightly and take out the smiling faces.

It's a shame they are resting the moon ident, this is my favourite one of the set, simple and perfect for before the news.
