Little observations but nice to see the Helicopters ident given time to breathe (decent length) and form-up before the anno. Followed by a long fade out into EastEnders - which worked well. Decent director on Network tonight? Wink

Oh and Mr Vowels' microphone faded up slightly too early so you could his his slight laugh at The One Show's ending.

Nice to see those Saturday night trails becoming a regular feature. Not as good as the old days but they'll do!!

I think Phil Vowels comment leading into an episode of Doctor Who has been turned into the banner headline for a feature in Doctor Who Magazine.

It was on April 12th 2008 leading into The Fires Of Pompeii.

There was a cock-up on BBC One Scotland going into Strictly Come Dancing. I wondered whether it was genuine or some weird London-scripted attempt to be cute, but now I think about it, they seemed to lose a trailer at the start of the junction as well, so it was probably genuine. Besides, if it had been on network as well, it would probably have been mentioned here. Anyway... full playout of the Saturday night ident, mostly clean, cut to black, announcer says "oh, it's gone dark", pause, flustered-sounding announcement (over a still-blank screen) of a special message from Andrew Lloyd-Webber, with a countdown clearly audible in the background.

Did anybody see the BBC One ident tonight where it said 'Also on BBC HD' in the top left hand corner?

Also saw this. They seemed to play the ident for a very long time - I thought that it maybe reached the end of the cycle / play. It is still very bad that the number of times that BBC Scotland cock up continuity or you still see the last few seconds of the " national " ident. You think that they would have had enough practice by now? Also bad how audible the countdown was in the background.

As well as this last Friday ( 10th ) they played a trail for Have I Got News? which by this point had been " moved " to half nine, then after the News / Reporting Scotland at 10pm they then played the network trail for Have I Got News? which was was being shown at 9pm. Surely if they can opt out of one trail they must know where the other trails will be? Makes you wonder if they wouldn't be better going back to the UK national announcer going " except for viewers in Scotland ".

As already mentioned, it seems a lot of the BBC ONE announcers are giving the idents a lot more air time and leaving the anno right to the very end. Commendable.

The BBC have decided to scrap showing the 'Daily Play' draw during the Lotto results.

But they still insisted on showing the fake 'upstairs office'!

Also on the same lines I think Who Dares Wins is my new favourite lottery show...The music and lighting effects really suit the show!

I don't mind the fake upstairs office, it's the fake clapping and cheering after every ball, especially on the midweek one.
