BBC One breakdown from earlier - http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/nol/newsid_5350000/newsid_5351100/5351140.stm?bw=bb&mp=wm&news=1&bbcws=1

Some of it has been cut out for online though I think.

Where abouts is it? As I didn't see it earlier.

They've edited it out now, was still included earlier but they must have noticed it.

Yeah they've fixed that video clip of the News At Ten now - it had the breakdowns in it still when I posted it earlier.

Is that SFX-less mix of Kites the new breakdown music then?

Yes, that has been the breakdown music for BBC ONE since the circle-themed symbols launched. The disc contains extended versions of the music for all of the original 'launch' symbols, plus a track which has all of the different pieces segued together.

Yes, we heard rather a lot of it when the local news failed to appear during Breakfast on Feb 14 last year on BBC One NI.

Just dug out the disc...

The 7.25am slot had the following holding caption...

,,,accompanied by the soundtracks of various BBC One idents, one after the other.

At 7.55am, Michael S read the news over this caption...

Hehehe - I had to use those two slides, also in that order myself, I think. Now I think about it, IIRC, the first two opts on the morning I had the problem, were affected by two different faults.

You never know what fault is around the next corner, which is why we always have slides and music at the ready.

They should bring back slides for regualar usage.

Any reason why they stopped using them?

They used a slide last night when advertising a change to the schedule (for Panorama).

On a slightly different note what shifts do announcers work - network and across the regions?

Are any pre-recorded - am I right in thinking the regions do more live announcements than Network?

BBC1 network seems to have 3 different voices per day although is lunchtime shared with BBC2?
