I'm going to put it as it is...

The dogs ident is sh*t.
WHAT? Do you think it's too silly? I think the types of shows it can introduce are limited.

eerrrr...

Crufts!

Oh wait that's on BBC Two.

Maybe not for much longer!!

BBC may cut ties with Crufts!!!

I'd say that's the best set of R&M ident stills on a website, right there. If anyone has a better resource, I invite them to post a link.

And Ash, I know this is going to sound really nitpicky and all that but, the sections have "Capoeira" spelt wrong in two different ways.

In the index for the stills it's been spelt Capeoria, and on the page for the ident itself it's been spelt Capoeria. I know, it's a tricky word to spell, let alone type correctly - I just remember it as "e before i" in this case.

Yeah I've never know how to spell it properly, coupled with my dyslexia and it just gets messy. I should have checked. I'll get it sorted, maybe tomorrow though as not got time tonight.

You're in charge of that site? I love that site!!

R&M had some great music and this I think gets overlooked because the idents themselves weren't popular.

The dogs ident? First viewing I thought it was funny but a bit too barking for BBC One. Now I love it!

Now all sorted, also added Tumbler, Maasai and Chrismas '05.
Also now available, the circles idents!

Just watched Dog Display on youtube and hate it. Silly, drags on and is another CGI fest.

I'm surprised how popular it has been received on this forum but then again Hippos and Penguins are also widely appreciated where again I despise them.

Perhaps it is CGI animals or the fact that they are downright silly and pretty inappropriate for the BBCs flagship channel. You can have humour, CGI and unrealistic situations in idents, like for example in Neon and, Mowers, but do they all have to be over the top featuring animals?

A shame this can't be one that is rested.

I think the CGI on this one is minimal and it seems some people don't like flippant idents. But it's not going to be introducing the news or a documentary on the holocaust where it would obviously be inappropriate. The thing the globe had in its favour was that it could introduce any type of programme and the mood was set by the continuity announcer.

On a side note channel bosses have multiple orgasms when design companies tell them their ideas, end up falling for all of the talk and then try and justify it to the general publc.
