The ident wasn't as good as I was expecting.
The visuals are okay but, it has been let down by the soundtrack.

Its creatively bankrupt. There's nothing dynamic about it. It means nothing.

I'd sooner see the sweeping vistas of the balloon idents. At least they engender a sense of pride.

I just don't see any vision.

I think approximately the first 5 seconds is good in that you only see an individual cyclist, as well as showing a child looking out of a car window and someone else walking past under an umbrella. I think revealing the 'bigger picture' of lots of cyclists early into the ident lets it down.

I'd like to think the music may be different when aired as that really doesn't help and perhaps makes it seem worse. The choice of music can make the difference between a good/reasonable ident and a poor one in my opinion.

Sad as it may be, I'm going to wait until I see it on the telly before viewing it on the net. However, I just wanted to say that maybe they will revise the soundtrack later on? So maybe not all is lost.

The soundtrack will be different on air. I agree with you that the ident is let down by the large number of people being shown too early into the ident.

I agree that the form up lets it down, what we see before that with the cyclists works very well. The thing is you don't see them actually getting into a circle, if they did that it would work much better. Not as exciting or as good as I expected it to be.

There are some really great BBC1 idents and some not so great. This is just simply awful though.

Well I hope the one with the animals is better. I think this one might be a bit of a grower though.

How tragic.

I suppose the idea is to show that people / communities make a bland, grey city look colourful and interesting, and they've also managed to get some green propoganda in there at the same time (I assume cars have been banned outright in this fictitious world, since they're not wearing helmets).

They are definitely wearing helmets, and there are cars in the ident too, the girl looks out of the window of one, and there's one in the final form up too.

Silly me... I'll blame it on the fact I've only just woken up.

The ident is still naff though.

I'd agree with pretty much most of the comments on the ident having seeing it for the first time.

Musics poor and once again the signature bit of the ident will most likely be drowned out by the announcers, although given the weather we've been having up here in scotland it be wise to launch it on Sunday Laughing

I don't think it's bad at all. It's very pretty and the soundtrack has a subtle, pleasant quality to it, even if it is a bit sub-standard. Hopefully the final soundtrack will be a bit nicer.
