Not pigeons. Nor animation. Talented, live action animals this time. I'll say no more... as it's a nice ident and I don't want to spoil the surprise... nor do I want to get sacked. Anyway... you know what the beeb is like these day... you're all bound to see it in a press release soon enough, before it even makes it on screen.

Okay say no more, but that one does sound like one to say 'ah' to if it has animals in it. Can't wait!!
Hopefully we'll get both before the end of the year and fingers crossed the BBC will change their minds and not stop at 17 BBC1 idents.

MG and other articles about the rebrand state that there will be around 16 idents in total.

Yes, when they originally launched the circle idents, they said there would be 16 in total. I think they said the same with the dancers and that did end up being no more than around 16.

I just think that is such a shame and a very stupid idea. Just add a couple here and there every few months like they did with the balloon and the old 2's.

Exactly. The less you have the more stale they can become, look at BBC2. As well made as they are, it can become boring seeing the same ones in rotation.

Exactly. The less you have the more stale they can become, look at BBC2. As well made as they are, it can become boring seeing the same ones in rotation.
It's so true, though thinking about it, years ago we only ever saw one ident, the same ident before every programme.
