Looks like the BBC One EPG has gone slightly pear shaped, it reckons BBC London News is on air across England.

And there they are. If bbc140 says it'll happen 9 times out of 10 barring accidents it will happen. Is it true that the other ident features pigeons and is it cgi?

...is it just me or did that statement sound vaguely sarcastic?
No sarcasm intended at all. If bbc140 says it'll happen it'll happen, but remember when one ident was supposed to debut one month but the BBC held it back and instead debuted two the following month. Plans can change at the last minute hence the barring accidents comment.

Thanks Smile - Yes they do have a tendancy to make a few last min changes. What you must remember is to some of you that take intrest in the launch of idents you wonder why they have been changed / postponed. However to 99% of the viewers who dont know they are going to launch at all its no set back.

Who is the current daytime and nighttime continuity announcer on BBC1? On a points of view video on youtube you see him at the presentation desk and he looks younger than he sounds.

If it was a POV from Q2 2007, IIRC there was a look inside a playout area, with Duncan doing an anno into a programme.

I haven't seen a credit squeeze on BBC One lately, i take it the phasing out has begun then? Most of the daytime programmes today have been left in full screen, the way they should be.

They still have them as I saw one at the end of New Tricks on Monday. Look out for the 2 minute animated Olympic trail tonight on BBC1 at 7.27pm. If any of you are old enough to remember Monkey it will feature animated versions of those characters.

My God they just played Helicopter in full!!! Shocked

I wish they'd show it more often as it is such a beautiful ident.

The link with the circle concept is weak, but place that aside and I have to agree with you; right now it's my favourite ident of the set purely for the direction and music.

I saw an extended showing of the short version into the news headlines the other day too - long plays during the daytime junctions often do take me by surprise!

The whole circle concept isn't really a logo like the 4 or the 2 but these are the best idents BBC1 has had in a long time.
