Absolutely, it was the music we were all referring to, and purely in that aspect, the dancers were IMO superior to the current set.

However, doesn't mean people should knock the more 'serious' of the dancer idents. The likes of Ballet and Skaters, when judged against the rest of the set, were some of the very best for showcasing a level of real skill by the performers while being backed by powerful music.

As I have said before, it is those poor idents such as Maasai or Music Video that appear to have unfortunately tarnished the whole set. But I am able to both appreciate the stronger idents, while still agreeing with anyone who says the Balloon was better because, it was evidently BBC One's best identity. But if it had been succeeded by something on the level of, say, UKTV Gold's current idents, I would have been seriously annoyed!

Ewwww, did anyone see that thing on bbc two after the apprentice repeat, a greeny version of zoetrope with the whats next......argh! I know these are better than what they had with the cross channel etc but come on bbc....

P.S Off topic but itv looks like it has a new next thing at the bottom of the screen... any caps?

That aside, it's The Apprentice final tonight which I look forward to and will be interesting to see how it rates.

Saturday sees a couple of debuts too - the ( rather heavily-trailed) Jekyll which could fare well, plus that thingy hosted by Angus Deayton that looks to feature a sort of Anecdotal Call My Bluff. At the very least it'll be interesting to see Angus fronting a new comedy panel show series on the Beeb. Not sure whether it'll be any good, mind you!

i know but the bbc like human activity in there idents

they should have just stuck with the lifestyles insted of the dancers

Just got a reply to my email from my mate (dave) at the BBC and... And a further 2 BBC One Idents ARE to launch this weekend at some time.

At this time he has no detail's of the time, but... I will keep you updated.

Is this from the same person that told you Kristina would win the Apprentice?

It's just occurred to me how wonderful some of the dancers idents would be - IF they had had the balloon floating in the background. I could definitely see it working on Capoeira and Skateboarders... perhaps on Ballet? It could also work on the promotion Rush Hour .

I think I'll wait until one of the BBC insiders posts here themselves until I believe the reports. There's plenty of BBC staff registered here so I'm sure one of them may know something or be able to hint/confirm rumours.

I spoke to him today and directed him in the direction of some of the comments on the TVF regarding the apprentice, and he said that it was only a rumor and that the apprentice production team kept the outcome quite.

However he can confirm that there are deffinatly talks going regarding two new Idents launching this weekend.

He is going to talk to someone tomorrow regarding them, so he will report back.

You dont have to belive the information, but thats your choice.

You've really lost any credibility since your embarrassing gaffe in The Apprentice thread.

I have to say that you didn't have much to start with, but now you have less than zero.

If I were you I would hide in a closet for some years until we've forgotten.

There was more, but it is related to different bit and bobs.
