This is even better news. The seven regulars are getting very stale and whilst special idents are a nice bonus, some new regulars are definitely required.

bbc two are looking to do more idents at the moment, they will be additional idents not a rebrand. i think there will be quite a few of them too...

If the new 2 idents aren't window on the world, the chances are it'll be like the older 2's where they are manipulated and put in different situations/environments. What was the point of paying people thousands of pounds for an idea that looks likely to be discontinued?
Anyway two new BBC One idents will bring the number upto 16 in two years it took the Rhythm & Movement idents 4 years to reach that number!!

That episode is now on IPlayer...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/page/item/b00c64cf.shtml (it was the report that starts at about 14 minutes in)
...but they have fixed it so the report starts properly now. I don't know about anyone else but I really would prefer it if the version of programmes on IPlayer were 'as broadcast'. This is the second time (that I know of) they have fixed a problem on The One Show before it has been uploaded to IPlayer yet when This Week had a technical problem a few weeks ago it was included, BBC One continuity and all.

Did anyone see The One Show last night? They cut away to a VT but the picture switched back to the studio (with the VT audio still playing) and we got a little glimpse of stuff we shouldn't see.

I'm not sure if that is good though as it's only meant to be a package of 16 idents.

Which is making me think this isn't reliable - so everyone, perhaps it's not time to get your hopes up...

But why stop at 16 though? Seems stupid to me, you could add a couple here and there as you go on just like the BBC One balloon and the classic era 91-01 2's did.
Who said that there were only going to be 16?
