I reckon that if he doesn't change at the end of this series (does anyone know definetely that he isn't), I believe he may wait for Steven Moffat to take over to see if the scripts are good etc. Otherwise It'll probably be the Christmas Day episode. Also, does anyone know who his companion is going to be in the next few specials?
I reckon there will either be celebrities, a la the last two Christmas specials, or he will go it alone and just have random people we haven't heard of, like how Martha started off, but just for that one special.
Is there any reason why Catherine Tate won't carry on after this series? Wasn't it the fact that they wanted a more loveable assistant and one very different to Rose for the reasons of dropping Martha as the main assistant?
Could it use all 3, or one of each 3 in each special?
The question is if they do continue with an assistant and David Tennant leaves, will they change the assistant or carry them across like they did will Billie Piper?
I don't mind if threads go slightly off topic as it's the natural flow of conversation, but I can see other people getting annoyed by it.
Quite so. Considering I'm trying my best to not find out what happens in Dr Who until the episode is aired (shock horror I acutally want a surprise!) I'd have been most appreciative if we didn't discuss Dr Who in the BBC One thread.
Swinging the thread back on topic, is there a new female announcer for the BBC? ISTR hearing her on mornings earlier this week on BBC One.

Me too. I have to make a point of avoiding the Doctor Who thread until after I've seen the episode - and even then there's (admittedly public) information about the actors coming and going I just don't want to know.
Its been a long time since a programme made me gasp as much as Who - and I love it that way!
