I don't really understand why announcements can't be appropriate for the programme being introduced - same as the way we have idents specficially for certain genres. Plus the majority of junctions are played straight.

Anyway, I noticed the box is back is for the Chelsea trail

Also, good to see the Saturday night lineup trail making a return - it's almost like we're back in the mid 90s Wink

What has happened to the neon ident stings, are they even still used?

How have they handled the multi channel endboards since they rebranded, they could have come up with something better, even they created something with the new glass boxes, and used the channel boxes over the top of that.

I noticed Neon being used on Tuesday on BBC 1 Scotland Smile It's about time they stopped using the same one on one night, it becomes boring and it's coming into longer nights, so it looks daft!

I've only seen Neon once on network outside of Saturday night and that was midweek before Weatherview. I'm tired of seeing Neon on Saturday nights, it doesn't suit leading into Casualty or Doctor Who. It should be used for frivalous programmes and sitcoms, light entertainment programmes, light dramas etc.

I think it does suit and has a nice Saturday night feel, but if it'd been introduced for all week long, it would have helped the whole set stay fresh.

I hate seeing one ident all night long. It was like everytime they introduced a new rhythm ident, you'd get it for the whole evening. Neon has an undeniable Saturday night feel but not every show on Saturday suits Neon. Doctor Who should be introduced by Mission Contrtol and there have been some heavy episodes of Casualty and yet there's happy/clappy Neon introducing it. It gets boring seeing the same ident over and over again.

The balloon had probably the most set of idents ever, but the people working in Network presumably had their favourites and kept using the same ones all the time. I think that when you introduce a new ident package you should have around 20-30 at the start so that you have a different one for each junction.

What annoys me about the ident, apart from what you have already mentioned is often the announcer starts talking before the BBC One jingle kicks in, so all you hear is the build upto the tune. It lacks impact because of this.

We must be due a new ident soon shouldn't we?

Yeah we must be due a new one soon, there's meant to be 16 I think.

This is an example that has just aired, glad it doesn't use some kind of boxed BBC Three logo, however the pink clashes with the red and makes it hard to see.

Are there really meant to be 16? I hope we get more than 16, we're two years into the new idents and we've got 14 already. There's all sorts of weird and wonderful ways they can go with these idents so I hope a new controller won't want another rebrand.

Surely an all white logo would be the obvious choice?
