I wonder: Have they created these idents with the idea to reuse and add to each year?

Well, they're 'people idents', so naturally they are going to be disappointing to a large number of people on here.

One thing that the Christmas ident/s have always had in their favour despite sometimes disappointing visuals has been a great festive soundtrack. It appears that we will not be having that either this year.

Not really sure what else to say, to be honest. Just hope they go back to something like they did in 2014 next year.

I've watched the two idents are a few times now and the framing of the circle is grating on me (it's the little things in life). They could have zoomed in closer so that circle surrounds the full logo (like the regular idents) or have it smaller and the size of the 'o' in the logo.

Despite being short of money, they've obviously used an advertising agency to come up with that "John Lewis" style promotion, either that or they want a slice of that pie, which they shouldn't need to as the BBC is a big enough brand as it is.

Why show a promo showing people anywhere but watching TV, with just a few clips of BBC programmes beggars belief.
