BBC One 2016 Christmas Presentation

I figured it might be slightly different at the Beeb, but that's just been my experience of places I've worked so far.

Just a thought. Is the BBC going to air different presentation on Boxing Day? All trails that have programmes airing on Boxing Day so far have NOT featured the Christmas presentation. It could be nothing, but I noticed it on both BBC One and BBC Two.

That would be unprecedented. Even when the idents only ran for three or four days, it included Boxing Day. Only reason to curtail the Christmas package that early would be if they rebranded completely. But if that was to happen, you'd think it would be a week later.

I think that it's probably just an oversight about the Boxing Day trails not having any Christmas branding on them. I fully expect the idents to run all the way up to the last junction before midnight on New Years Eve, which I think will be the Robbie Williams concert.

I think it would be far too early to drop the Christmas presentation on Boxing Day, considering they'll still be showing festive programmes right up until the New Year.

Saying that, the idents themselves were a little unexpected this year. The BBC could potentially continue the trend for the rest of December.

Maybe considering the different scenarios we have seen on the 'oneness' promo that we might be getting New Year idents?

I think that would work really well. If I'm right, it was 2012 the last time we saw New Year idents?

You are correct. In fact, to date, it's the ONLY time that BBC One have ever modified their current Christmas ident for the post-Christmas period up to New Year.

Not quote, in 1994 they had 3 idents, one for before Christmas day, one for the day itself and a different one for boxing day (and after, if it ran that long)

The menu this morning after Breakfast had the Christmas music, as did the menu on the first night which was shown before Match of the Day. Why it changed, who knows?!

These idents showing 'real' people enjoying themselves at Christmas look very ITV to me.

I personally don't think they're dreadful, but I prefer e.g. the 2013 Christmas presentation.
