Bauble ident before Sister Rita to the Rescue. Have they only got three idents then?

Sister Rita to the Rescue - is that a real programme?

The graphic background is the best element of this presentation but not sure the text is all that readable on those caps - might look better in video though.

The pudding ident is easily the best so far but they're all still that little bit bland. Kind of UK soap rather than American drama.

Screencapped it on iPlayer - the PQ was a little bit murky but I posted it as I felt it was decent.

Agree with you on the pudding ident.

I can probably say that the red curtain (which I have just endured on YouTube) is crap, worse than this year but not as bad as 2003 (I can see that I'm flip-flopping here). No effort, no thought, just terrible.

Blimey, what a miserable thread this is.

The idents are fine. They capture the spirit of Christmas and togetherness that they are going for.

Whatever the BBC come up with, it's never going to please everyone.

Some will compare the ident to the previous ones, others will embrace whatever message the BBC are trying to portray.

Im sure when people are a bit tipsy on Christmas Day, they will like it regardless.

Yes, it is a real programme.

It focuses on a drop-in centre helping the poorest areas of Manchester.

Not my cup of tea for BBC ONE daytime - Fake Britain and Caught Red Handed is more of my favourite to be honest. Wink

I've only just seen the Christmas pres. I have to say I don't find it bad at all. Remember the year of the curtain people! I did like Sprout Boy last year though.

Since I wasn't in Britain for a year I didn't catch the curtain on BBC ONE! Looking at it on YouTube I can see why it is loathed by many. No effort whatsoever, nothing that represents Christmas as a whole and is utterly bland.

Is the bar so low now that anything other than a red curtain is a positive.

It's like when you find a savings account that offers 1% interest!

How is the bar low, 2014 were outstanding, and during the 80s you't say there were decent compared to nowadays

As far as I'm aware of, the idents are chosen by the play-out gallery and not the CA, as seen on the Points Of View extract.
