So far, the news ident has definitely been the best. Can't they just use this for the rest of December?

It just feels as though something is missing for me. Despite the 'plain and simple' idents in 2013, the soundtrack was very catchy and magical. A decent soundtrack added to this year's idents could make the world of difference.

I've had "You Give A Little Love" in my head ALL DAY because of this bloody ident! Laughing

SO that is the new ident, so one has to wonder why Scotland went for this better ident to start off with?

Possibly just personal preference of the person on charge up here. Not everything has to be some great mystery that needs solving.

Well my Scottish friends are always telling me that nothing says Christmas quite like a bunch of English accents in a pub. Just a guess - but I'm sure the choice of Christmas Tree ident for the launch of the Christmas campaign by BBC Scotland was quite deliberate.

They might reflect what viewers are doing on the 25th but they don't reflect what's happening on the 4th.

Gosh, you must've really hated Father Christmas delivering all those Christmas presents from his balloon on the wrong days back in 2000.

No because they only aired those idents at Christmas.

Flashing jumper/"Beer gut" into MOTD. So is that it... have we seen all the Christmas idents already?

Uh-oh! Just showed the jumper ident again. Hope there's not just three!

My thoughts exactly. Here's hoping they're saving the best ones for another day...

I do declare these the worst Christmas ident in the history of the BBC.

The first post of yours I absolutely agree with.

See, it's bringing people together already. And isn't that what Christmas is all about?

It's possible they've simply used this one again as it's a pub-based ident which is an appropriate link into MOTD. I'm only guessing, mind. There's still a faint possibility of more idents on the way- however, to hold back a new one until 23:35 would be unusual. I've a sneaky suspicion that could well be our lot!

I think those launched closer to Christmas. The problem with launching idents on December 1st/first week of December is that Christmas idents aren't introducing a Christmas schedule, especially when you have programmes like Panorama still on.
