I wonder if anybody could upload the segment in question? I am abroad and unable to access iPlayer.

Permanent HD copy of the excerpt.

I love those draft animated hippos with the rigamortis legs, at 1:35. Hilarious!

It's a shame nobody asked a question about why they butchered great originals.

Interesting they still had BBC THREE HD on one of the monitors, wonder when this was filmed...

It says 24/10/16 on one of the computer screens, and the content (as as BAKE OFF FINAL COUNTDOWN) backs that up.

Also BBC FOUR HD showing the CBeebies feed - for those two channels the playout operators know that the two BBC digital channels timeshare with CBBC and CBeebies. BBC THREE's stream is now entirely dedicated to CBBC - after the THREE feed was pulled off air and removed from the EPG the stream was reconfigured so that CBBC could be tested on a 24 hour basis. Before the 9pm extension in April they showed a BBC holding animation during the downtime of CBBC.

Will *someone* please tell them that this massive logo sting style they go for these days looks cheap and nasty?

Or the braindead inconsistency of endboards for promos.

Operationally within the BBC the 4 channels are usually known as Net1, Net2, Net3, Net4. It predates the split channel idea but does have the side effect of removing that confusion.

The convention is also useful for identifying whether its the network version of a channel or a regional one, and also whether it's pre-transmission or off air.

Having a network split between different services isn't new, in the 50s and 60s what is now Radio 3 was 'Network Three' which was several different seperate services
