Here are the Still game promos: I dont like that network promo, I just think its dire.
Different audiences, different requirements.
Still Game is a huge deal in Scotland, so what you need to press home is "remember that show you bloody love, it's back". For England you need to convince people to watch it for the first time, as (aside from BBC2 comedy zone appearances) it's not really been on there.
I'm sure it's a recycled effort from the Commonwealth Games, but it was nice to see it make an appearance before a major show, and it would be nice to see it reappear every so often for major Scottish programming.
It has been used fairly often. I've seen it most to introduce River City.

Interesting to see nearly 30 seconds of the rotating BBC blocks a few minutes in to Wallace & Gromit this afternoon on HD, yet no comment or apology over the credits.
Also, I can't recall what happened last year, but there's a taster of what's no-doubt to come in a Children In Need promo today...
Nice to see that on Sunday each of the English regions will be opting out to show their own regionalised documentary on "Books that make Britain". Relatively rare to see all of the regions opting out these days in a slot other than for News / Sunday Politics / Inside Out.
Remember when BBC One first introduced the short versions of the circle idents 7 years ago? Personally, I felt a lot what lost from the original longer versions, but in a way, I do feel like in some cases it was for the best.
With the original 2006-09 set, the inner circle would flip flop from a faint shade of tomato red to a solid white, a lack of consistency if you ask me. There was also the fact that sometimes the "BBC one" logo barely had time to appear on screen, as before the logo properly formed, it would cut to the programme, or when it did appear, it would abruptly transition when the circle was still animating.
Though what made the originals so unique was their soundtracks and the stories they told, case in point; the helicopter and moon idents were some of the most beautiful idents on television. It was a lot with the newer versions simply retorting to the three note jingle constantly being used...
I never really understood why they couldn't keep both versions to use depending on the junction.
Well they have kept the long versions (if very slightly edited) of Bikes, Capes and Hippo, and Surfer remained relatively unscathed.
So why they felt the need to scrap or not even create edited longer versions of the others is a great shame.

First TX of a new sting, shown on 1 NI at 8:30pm, and used locally for comedy programming (has been seen a couple of times in the last 24 hours or so, on 1 NI, at the beginning of one or two comedy programming trails).
